Project size

If you have a Pro subscription plan, one designer works on one standard (average-size) design task every business day. So the output for one creative is one standard design task per day. We call that “single output.”

With a Double subscription plan, you get double the output. This can happen in one of the following ways:

- Two designers work on two different standard tasks during one business day.

- One designer works on two average-size tasks during one business day.

- One designer works on one project but delivers a double scope of work, which is the equivalent of two standard tasks.

Please note — you should coordinate with the team at Epiic to decide the best option for your needs.

With a Double+ subscription plan, you get a double output of deliverables too, but the advantage is that you can place an order and get deliverables the same day.

The Double and Double+ plans are perfect if you need to design logotypes, branding guidelines, custom illustrations, websites and landing pages, presentation decks, and animated GIFs.

The scope of work for one business day depends on the type of job requested, the number of deliverables expected, as well as the scope of revision requests.

So what is an average-size task? We have outlined it below according to the job type.

3-5 design variations of one banner – we create multiple variations so you can choose the one you like the most.

  • If you need a banner in various sizes, we'll deliver it as a revision after you select one of the design styles your designer gives you (up to 10 different sizes). This will be calculated as another average-size task, so it will be done the next business day.
  • If you want multiple banner variations in different sizes within one day, we can do that too. We can do 2 banner variations in 3-5 sizes during one business day.

Presentation slides/pitch decks

2-3 design variations of the first 2-3 slides (depending on the content)

  • Once you select the design, the next revision (counted as the next task) will be at least 5 more slides if there are no major changes to the selected style.
  • If the information for the slides is provided in a format that can be copied & pasted, then this is 1 task.
  • If some tables are given simply as pictures or screenshots, then their alteration can also take up to 1 task, depending on the complexity of the table and the amount of information in it since the copy has to be typed and reformatted manually.

Website page design

The first 3-4 computer screens in 1-2 design variations. This is the scope of work assuming we have information about the structure of the page, have the copy for the header, the body, and the footer, and have the website map (if possible).

  • If we don’t have this information, we first submit up to 2 wireframe variations and then switch to the design part.
    * A wireframe is a skeleton that shows where each element will go, how a block will look, etc.
  • We can also suggest a mood board of colours, typeface, and stylistic directions if we feel that it will benefit the project and create clarity on the design style for future pages.
  • We recommend using Figma for website design. It’s not only faster for designers but also simplifies and speeds up front-end developers' work a lot.

Website design

For each website, we first need to approve the general style. First, we start designing a home page. Note that finalizing the design can take several revisions, depending on how many you request. Each revision is done within a day.

After that, designing the next page will take about a day. Once the design is approved, the creation of the other pages is more streamlined as the designer knows the style you want.

Once the pages are finalized, we start on the mobile versions. We try and create mobile versions for two pages within a day (depending on the length and complexity of a page).

Once the design for all pages is approved, the final step will be to prepare all pages for the developers, which will take about 2 more days. Once it is done, we will send the client the finalized Figma file.

To start on the design, we need the following information to be provided in the brief:

  • Examples of web designs you like
  • Website structure and each page layout (containing sections for each page and preferably finalized copy)
  • Brand colours
  • Source files for the items that you will have on the page (logo, client logos, etc.)
  • Each page should be added to our system as a separate project. It helps everyone track revisions better and make sure everything is taken into account.

Also, keep in mind that we only do design; we do not code websites. In some cases, we can use a website builder to build it. If you want a website built, please check with the design team to see if we work with that particular builder. Some of them require coding skills, which are outside of our designers’ skillset.

If you are planning on using a website builder, we need to know that in advance because it will impact the design due to the limitations of website builders.

If it is a custom-designed illustration, we will deliver 1 illustration a day. If a request is complex, it can take more time. An example of a custom illustration: you supply a photo of your pet, and we need to make a hand-drawn digital illustration.

If we use stock illustrations and adapt them, then it is 3-5 illustrations per day.

If a revision contains a lot of changes in the design itself (not simply a change of copy), it will usually be counted as an average task.

In general, the first revisions are not time-consuming as the first step is to approve the design style of a project. We usually offer several design variations and expect a client to share their feedback on which direction they would like us to use. Once the style is approved (and it may take up to several revisions), the next parts of a project are submitted at the pace of one average-size task per business day.

Dividing a project

If a project is big, we divide it into several parts and send a part of the task in one day. For example, if it is a request to create a website design, then we split it into pages and design page by page starting with the home page.

If it is a pitch deck, we divide it into 5-10 slides depending on the complexity of the design.

It is important to get approval from you so we know we’re moving in the right direction, the style is on point, and the colour choice is what you want. It is important to send the first samples of our work to you at the beginning, and for you to approve the style.

The first draft may take up to 2 days if it is:

  • A landing page
  • A logo (3 options)
  • A branding guide (2-3 design options)
  • A complex GIF
